The good side is a similar alphabet, because only three letters differ from Russian. The words are written in Cyrillic, although Arabic characters used to take its place (in ancient times, runic writing altogether), which is also a big plus. But other features can confuse even experienced translators.

It can be difficult to translate from Russian into Kyrgyz mainly because of their belonging to different language groups. Kyrgyz is similar to Turkic, with its classical agglutinative structure. That is why in some moments it is very different from the Slavic inflectional language group.

Verbal constructions are the main distinguishing feature. Sentences that are subordinate explanations may look like a series of poorly connected predicates, although to native speakers everything is extremely simple and understandable. There may be several pronouns between words, but verbs may take 80% of the sentence.

The difference in some cases can also be a challange. In total, there are six cases: nominative, accusative, dative, and genitive familiar to Russian speakers, plus two additional ones: ablative and local.

In turn, the process of interpretation is complicated by the harmony of the vowels. The choice among possible case endings depends on the coincidence and sound of several letters. This can be confusing for translators.
