    Translation into Swedish

Translation from Russian into Swedish is in demand among the many services of MK:translations LSP. This is due to the global importance of Sweden as an economically developed and attractive tourist destination in Europe. Millions of tourists from all over the world visit Swedish ski resorts yearly, thousands of students apply to higher educational institutions in Sweden, and hundreds of businessmen try to establish reliable and long-term business relationships with local entrepreneurs.

Spoken Swedish is a whole variety of pronunciations, non-standard and unusual sounds, and musical and tonic accents. To translate from Russian into Swedish or vice versa, the translator needs to know some of the features of this language pair:

    • Word formation: some adjective-noun combinations can be replaced by a verb. This affects the volume of the target text, which may differ significantly in the number of characters or words from the source text.
    • There are 29 letters of the Latin alphabet in the Swedish alphabet, and there are additional Ö, Å, Ä that have no analogs in other languages. Until the beginning of 2000, the letter W was used only in proper names and loanwords.
    • Swedish is full of idioms and expressions that cannot be translated directly, otherwise the general meaning of the text will be distorted.
    • The country’s cultural peculiarities allow phrases in official documents that are unacceptable in Russian.
    • Surnames and first names are translated by transliteration from Russian into Swedish. To avoid different variants of the same name in the text, it is necessary to pay special attention to this criterion.

A translator working with the Russian-Swedish language pair must have perfect knowledge of vocabulary and grammar, cultural characteristics of the country and language, and understand the context and specifics of the document being translated. This applies to all translation activities, like translation into Czech as well.
