In due time, the pandemic situation brought about changes in the processes of international events organization and holding – most of them are still held online. The same situation is with interpreters – even simultaneous interpreters got used to work remotely, from home or specially equipped studios.

Though, there were situations before, when there was no point to take simultaneous interpreters thousands of kilometers away just for short performance. Thus, the simultaneous translation in zoom or another service is popular for a long time already.

How does remote simultaneous interpretation differ from a classic one?

• Interpretation is performed using a special program.
• A simultaneous interpreter performs translation remotely, being in another location, for example, an equipped studio or at home.
• The event participants can hear the interpreter via headphones connected to smartphones, that is why, they can also be in any location.

The main requirement is that both simultaneous interpreter and event participants should have access to a special website or application, without which remote simultaneous interpretation is impossible.

Simultaneous interpretation in Zoom is more common.
