    Translation of the Novelty Book of the Steampunk Genre

    Literary translation of a 600-page book from Russian into English within 90 days.

    The case

     

    It was important for the client to receive a quality literary translation on term as previously he has already had bad experience with a low-quality translation of another company. Each chapter of the book was placed in a separate file, and the translation should have been uploaded on the client’s Google Disc step-by-step.

    Our task was to correctly translate 600 pages from Russian into English in 90 days, observing the deadline.

    Quotation and terms

    Firstly, three literary translators were chosen. Each of them did a sample translation, and the client chose the translator by HIMSELF.

    Resources optimization

    The selected translator was working on the book. All the chapters were carried out via CAT-program, and each term was added to the glossary. The editor and the proofreader kept constant communication through the system.

    Workflow

    The project manager calculated each of 65 chapters and indicated the handover date for the translator and the obligatory minimum for the editor. The PM uploaded each chapter in a separate Google Document on the client's disc.
