Translator’s Glossary: Transcreation
Transcreation, or localization, is an adaptation of a text to the target audience of another country. Transcreation combines a regular translation and a creativity of a copywriter. Translators go beyond simple word-to-word translation of marketing or literary texts. They transfer the statements into another culture and language. Transcreation may lead to some differences between the original and its translation.
